30 June, 2015The conversation on ‘Design, Education and Practice’ resumes on Tuesday June 30, 2015 with the topic of education. The discussion and debate generated in the earlier sessions will continue with the focus on architectural education. The contemporary practice of teaching architecture begin in 1961 in Bangladesh (East Pakistan) with an aim to offer a 5 year degree equaling the standard schools of architecture all over the world. It is now well over 5 decades that the first school has been offering architectural education and with many more public and private ones adding in recent times. The conversation will explore the relationship between pedagogy and practice, the essential knowledge and skills of a graduate and their aspirations. The conversation will be joined by young and established professionals and educators.
