Street for Resilient Community | Joint-winning Entry in Model Streetscape Competition
The following project is the Joint First in open urban design competition entitled ‘Model Streetscape of Arterial Mirpur Road’ organized by Dhaka South City Corporation in collaboration with Institute of Architects Bangladesh. The competition called upon streetscape design proposals for three-kilometre stretch of Mirpur Road [from Newmarket node at south to Dhanmondi 27 (old) node at north] as a visionary and executable model for Dhaka streets.

International Union of Architects World Congress held in Tokyo asked for research design to be presented on the program. Main theme of the congress was “Design 2050”. Under the sub theme of ‘Urban Inventions’, the following entry tries to investigate future global urban tendencies.
(LAND+TASK)SCAPE: Winning Entry in ‘Creating an Urban Oasis’ Student Idea Competition
The competition “Creating an Urban Oasis” aimed to engage students from different disciplines related to architecture, planning and engineering from universities to submit visionary design proposal appropriate for 415 acre site of Tejgaon Old Airport .It was expected to find new horizons of ideas on how public places could be regenerated within the congested city fabric of Dhaka. The proposals needed to focus on socio-cultural, economic, environmental values, harmonization with surrounding areas. The following project (LAND+TASK)SCAPE envisaged by a group of students from BUET won the First place in the competition.
Deyal Kotha: A Community Lantern under Tejgaon Flyover | Avantgardes
Deyalkotha (wall attic) is a “ pilot project “ under the Tejgaon link flyover in Dhaka, Bangladesh . It has been built as a temporary education platform for the slum children living in the adjacent area. It works a multi-functional stage where the children will get to learn through playful activities and others will get social education through cultural activities such as theatrical performances .
