Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition is an international competition jointly organized by the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Spain and INTBAU to help, preserve and revive the use of local architectural and urban traditions. The 2018-19 edition is the third round of this competition which was conducted in two stages. Three sites won the first stage: Béjar (Salamanca), Guadix (Granada), and Olite (Navarra). This entry from Bangladesh is a proposal for the second stage of the Guadix site.

ARCASIA Committee on Green and Sustainable Architecture organized the international idea competition on the theme of how a Green Building would contribute to COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control. Titled as “The contribution of Green Building in the fight against COVID-19”, the competition called for entries from Architects of the Member Institutes of ARCASIA. The featured project by Architect Shafique Rahman won the second position.
The entry ‘The Prize of Water’ was one of the finalists in the design competition ‘Designing Resilience in Asia (DRIA) 2018’. The proposal was appreciated for the inter-scalar and interdependent innovations. Since 2015, the DRIA has been organizing an International Symposium and Design Competition in Singapore annually. The proposal “Creating Spaces rather than Designing” has won the 1st place in the international architecture competition for affordable housing in Lesotho, Africa titled “Rise in the City”. The winning project was selected from 150 applications, 78 preliminary designs and 56 final designs entrants from 39 countries. This is a unique international architecture competition organized by Rise International and BOND Events for recent graduates and students worldwide. The contest was to design affordable and sustainable housing solutions to curb Lesotho’s housing problem in an environment challenged by: increased urban migration, climate change and scarcity of resources.
